Did you know that each month less than 1% of your active patients refer to your practice?

In the late 1970s Dental Insurance was considered a good thing by patients and dentists alike. Fast forward a few decades and more than any other issue (short of another pandemic), dentists report that managed care dental insurance is the number one biggest problem they face today.

Today, some of our colleagues write off upwards of 25%, even 30% of their fees while bearing a 70% practice overhead. Do the math. With poor reimbursement and high practice overhead, it’s almost as if we’re working for the insurance companies.

Although it’s possible, it’s not necessarily the best plan for many practices today. There are many factors to be considered before you simply cut your managed care umbilical cord. In most cases, worn enamel is NOT NORMAL. It is a PATHOLOGIC CONDITION which may lead to a long series of degenerative sequelae not the least of which is a badly worn dentition. In the early stages, abnormal tooth wear is often not visually apparent even to dental professionals. WHY? Tooth enamel is the hardest tissue in the human body.

Pathologic occlusion may exist for many years in the absence of symptoms or even any obvious signs. The enamel is so durable that many dentists and hygienists may not see visual signs in the early years.

When a patient presents with tooth #9 fractured to the
